"Black Lamp and Grey Falcon, A Journey through Yugoslavia," (2 volume set) by Rebecca West. Published by The Viking Press. 1941 Scarce. Matching black hardcovers are in good condition. Covers have shelfwear, especially along outer edges and corners. Volume 2 has coverboard faintly exposed on bottom corners. Full color picture on both front covers, on volume I the illustration has light chipping. Spines are faded. The front end pages are black, white and blue maps of Yugoslavia, both have aging and soiling. Black and white back end page map centers on Bosnia and has aging and soiling. Libary pastedown on backside of front free end page on both volumes. Spine split but holding in front of title page on Volume I. Text pages have aging. Volumes are sparsely illustrated with black and white photographs. Actual size of book: 6 1/4 by 9 1/2 inches. Volume I is 629 pages. Volume II includes index and goes through page 1181 (numbering continuing from Volume I) This is the narrative of West's 6 week trip through Yugoslavia in 1937.
