Original blue hardcover is in good- condition. Cover has soiling and creasing. Coverboard is possbly bent underneath cover. Gold gilt lettering on front cover is clean and bright. 4 corners bumped - bottom back corner very lightly. Spine is faded. End pages have aging. Front free end page has a previous owners signature in pencil. Text block pages have aging and several of the back pages have a bent corner. Binding is tight. Actual size of book: 4 1/2 by 7 inches. 428 pages.The book was designed to provide a basic education to prepare all citizens for service based on the assumption that all men between the ages of 18 and 45 must be prepared to defend the country.
