Back cover has a light stain on the bottom.Gold end pages are clean and bright. Text pages are clean and bright. Text block is tight to spine. Glossy, decorative dust jacket is in good condition with the exception of staining/wear on the inside of back of jacket corresponding to the stain on back cover of the book.  Actual size of book: 7 by 10 1/4 inches. 388 pages including an index. The book includes 89 illustrations in black and white and 10 plates in full color. "This illustrated collection of essays examines early Native American contact with European explorers, fishermen, and traders in "Norumbega," the sixteenth-century name of the Atlantic coast of New England near the Penobscot River in Maine." The illustrations in the book are from the Osher Map Library at the University of Southern Maine and niclude many rare early maps. American History. Maps.
